If you're excited about the returnTwin Peaks after twenty-five years, then boy do I have the book for you--Reflections: An Oral History of Twin Peaks by Brad Dukes. Mr. Dukes interviews close to ninety cast members, crew, and TV suits about the phenomenon that was Twin Peaks. You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about the show and maybe some things you didn’t; like why Season 2 was so different from Season 1, and how did David Duchovny get cast as Special Agent Denise Bryson. Pop culture oral histories like this are pure brain candy. They read fast and give more of what you want most--the dirt. And, oh yeah, the author is a Nashvillian. Reflections is a work nonfiction. Its fictional equivalent is Twin Peaks creator Mark Frost’s Secret History of Twin Peaks. Secret History is a lavish artbook that tells the history of the town of Twin Peaks via faux historical documents. The paper is creamier than Laura Palmer's complexion (at least when she was alive). Check out both books to get pumped about the return of Twin Peaks.
The Main Library is closed for essential preventative maintenance with an anticipated reopening in late October.
