Books That Inspire Gratitude

November 16, 2018

As a parent, I’m constantly making notes to myself in regard to my kiddos. My mind has a built-in Post-it ream, that’s never-ending and keeps a running chronicle of all the things I try to chase. I make mental notes about things to work on, learn, practice and experience. Each year, when November comes around, I immediately think of Thanksgiving. Giving. Gratitude.

Note to self: help my kids be more grateful.

While I try hard to foster the right growth for my kiddos, I sometimes wonder how purposeful I am about inspiring gratitude and being an example of a grateful person. Which leads me to  question how can I demonstrate gratitude beyond "oh, thank you," and beyond my own actions. How many different ways can we come across the same, important concept, without beating a dead horse?

Well…I do work at a library. So it shouldn't come as a shock that books are one of the first resources that come to mind. And if you're like me, you may not have lots of extra time to discover the best books beyond a general catalog search.

So let me suggest a few! Fair warning though, these books are popular around this time of year. So snatch 'em up while you can, or at the very least...put them on hold.
