Support the Library
Nashville Public Library Foundation is a committed community of leaders, learners and innovative achievers dedicated to supporting and empowering one of our city’s greatest resources – Nashville Public Library. Founded in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) organization, NPLF has raised more than $41 million to advance the impact and reach of NPL programs and initiatives. Friends of Nashville Public Library come from all walks of life, and every Friend makes a difference! Becoming a Friend is a simple way to build a community that visibly supports the Library through financial support for ongoing programs provided by Friends, active volunteer service, and most importantly, by creating a passionate voice for the advancement of the Library and its initiatives.
Nashville Public Library is a rewarding and fun place to volunteer. Volunteers assist at all our locations. There is likely a location for you to volunteer which is convenient to work, home, or school. If you haven't signed up to volunteer yet, what are you waiting for?
Nashville Public Library offers a variety of unpaid internships for college undergraduates and graduate students. Internships are thoughtfully constructed, focused, short-term projects, supervised by library staff who mentor and guide students. Students apply their academic interests and skills in a workplace setting, while exploring personal and professional goals.
