International Day of Peace

September 21, 2025

Today is the International Day of Peace

First declared by the United Nations in 1981– and rededicated in 2001 to fall annually on September 21st– the International Day of Peace is a reminder that we all must work toward building a world that recognizes our shared humanity in which all flourish without war or violence. From advocating for disarmament to volunteering in our community to speaking out against hatred, discrimination, and inequality, we all have a role to play in building a brighter collective future.

In honor of the International Day of Peace, we’ve gathered here a collection of books about peace and peacemakers.
