This novel was completely insane in the very best possible way.

Do I know exactly what happened? No, but who cares? I've seen lots of funny comparisons (Mean Girls, Heathers, Clueless, Carrie), but to me it most called to mind Fight Club.  As for the writing style, think Megan Abbott, but kicked up a notch.  Genre? Horror/comedy.

Kirkus Review calls it, “A viciously funny bloodbath eviscerating the rarefied world of elite creative writing programs” in their glowing review, and it was named a best book of Summer 2019 by Entertainment Weekly, NPR, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Vulture, Bustle, and LitHub.
