Green Romance Reads for Spring

March 13, 2025

This month we are continuing our tour of the Romance Reading Rainbow with the color green. It might not be easy being green, but it seems like it is a popular choice for book cover. I had lots of great reads with green covers. So let’s celebrate the fact that spring is almost here and St. Patty’s Day is coming and get your green read on.

I’ve read this author before and usually like her stories. This one, however, was probably my favorite. Haleigh is a full-figured chick who just wants to go on a nice date and find a nice guy that’s not her best friend, Jack. But when she continually strikes out, she agrees to let her family and friends set her up on 10 dates. Some of these dates were — let’s say — challenging. I really liked these characters and the love triangle was one of the better ones I’ve read lately. This one is not officially part of a series, but it does mention characters from previous books of the author, so if you want to hit everything, start with On the Plus Side, continue with The Make-Up Test, and then end up here.

First, let me just say that I loved this flamingo pink and green cover. Also, ever since I read Outlander, I’m a fan of a good, Scottish fella. This one did not disappoint. It did surprise me a little, however. I expected a traditional HEA romance, but this one had some paranormal twists to it. Upside to our manly main character, Lachlan: he’s a sexy Scot. Downside: he may or may not turn into the Loch Ness Monster after sundown. Add in a centuries-old feud with a little bit of magic, and this makes for a good story. Maybe not what I was expecting, but once I got past the initial premise, I was hooked. Don’t miss this if you are looking for something a little off the beaten path.

This was the opposite of what I expected. I thought she was gonna be the musician and would want to focus on her career and not want a relationship. However, he is the musician and he is two years overdue on delivering his album. When they are cocooned in an out-of-the-way family house in rural England, he needs to write and she needs to not think about him so much. I really enjoyed this. I thought the characters were great. Once I reoriented my expectations, I was all in.

I’ll admit this one sat on my desk a minute before I read it (hence this color challenge). I kinda go in and out with the sports go sports romances. I like them, but they’re not always what I want to read. Having said that, I’m glad I finally made time for this one. It was cute and I polished it off pretty quickly once I started. Teenage Aurora meets a twenty-something Mike at the coffee place where she works. She thinks he’s cute, but they don’t do more than exchange goods and services (not a euphemism). But imagine her shock when they meet 13 years later, after she spent the interim time writing letters to him as her fake Canadian boyfriend. Apparently there is going to be a second book in this series. I can’t wait to see where it goes next.

I usually enjoy a good Hollywood story and this one is no exception. Katie Price is a very famous actress who is home in Wisconsin to work on a secret project. Her high school best friend, Wil, hasn’t spoken to Katie in 13 years, but once they get back together, it’s like they were never apart. My husband is a huge Green Bay Packer fan, and he thought it was fun that this one was set in his favorite city. I also think that’s why the cover is green, but since that works for our purposes here, more power to ‘em. I also loved Katie’s cats — how do I get one of those boards?

See what I said? Lots of great green reads. If those aren’t enough for you, check out the titles below. Be warned - some of them are in a series, so you’ll need to do some homework before getting to green-land. But they are worth it.

Happy Green Reading…
